Entering its 16th year, Kids’ College at Trident Technical College will offer 104 summer camps for children ages 7-16. These camps provide opportunities for children to learn, develop leadership skills, make new friends, expand their interests and have fun.
The camps have traditionally been held at TTC’s Main Campus in North Charleston, and camp topics have included STEM subjects, culinary and baking, LEGO robots, creative arts, SAT prep, video game and mobile application programming, and 21st century life skills. For the first time, Kids’ College summer camps will be expanded to Palmer Campus in downtown Charleston, Berkeley Campus in Moncks Corner, Mount Pleasant Campus, Dorchester County QuickJobs Training Center in St. George and St. Paul’s Parish Site in Hollywood. Additional camps will be offered online.
“Trident Technical College already offers education and training opportunities to adults at campuses and sites across Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties,” said Kids’ College coordinator Michele Shinn. “We’re pleased to make similar opportunities for summer enrichment locally accessible to children in Moncks Corner and surrounding communities.”
The Kids’ College summer camps at Berkeley Campus will be offered during the weeks of June 17-21 and July 15-19. Camps offered at the campus include, but are not limited to: Spanish for Kids and Teens; Foundations in Minecraft; Gamestar Mechanic; Google Apps for Android; Cinema Camp; and LEGOs in Motion.
