“It’s all about keeping our spending local and what that means to our economy during the busy holiday season,” says Bill McCall, President of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, “we need to keep as much money in our area as possible. Studies show that for every $100.00 spent locally, $45.00 stays in the community.”

“A simple local purchase can make an incredible difference in your community,” explains McCall.

This ambitious initiative has earned the support of local officials and business community. The ultimate goal is to emphasize the importance of buying local and the positive economic impact it has on both residents and businesses. The Chamber hopes it will become second nature for everyone to “think locally” when considering a new purchase.
