(Berkeley County, SC) – The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce spearheaded an effort to gather area CEO’s, elected officials and community leaders to form a new group called “Moving Berkeley Forward”. According to Bill McCall, COO of Santee Cooper and President of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, “Moving Berkeley Forward” will afford local leaders the opportunity to share ideas and communicate openly about current and pending topics which directly affect the growth and well-being of Berkeley County.
“This is a forum where business and community leaders have the opportunity to understand the proposals, issues and legislation affecting our businesses and residents,” says Bill McCall, President of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, “ right now, our County is plagued with a lot….and I mean a lot….of misinformation, and it’s because of this misinformation that there are some decisions being made which are not always in the best interest of our local businesses and citizens.”
According to McCall, this group is designed to accomplish exactly what its name states, “Moving Berkeley Forward”.
“Berkeley County is one of the most desirable places to live and work,” explains McCall, “We must continue to create opportunities, not just for ourselves, but for the next several generations. We must look forward to move forward…and that’s what this group is all about.”
