Councilmembers Take Oath of Office in Goose Creek

Councilmember John McCants and Jerry Tekac, along with newly elected Franklin Moore took the oath of office on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Marguerite H. Brown Municipal Center. Judge Dale Van Slambrook administered the oath.

This election marks Councilmember John McCants’ sixth term in office and Councilmember Jerry Tekac’s second term in office. New member, Franklin Moore will begin his first day in office on May 19, 2012.

The City of Goose Creek Municipal Election was held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 to fill three seats on City Council. Incumbents McCants and Tekac received majority votes of 619 and 596 respectively. A run-off election between incumbent Sal Gandolfo and Franklin Moore was held Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Moore received 448 votes to win the run-off.
