(MONCKS CORNER, SC) — The Berkeley Chamber of Commerce continues to encourage people to consider patronizing local businesses when making purchases. The Chamber launched a new webpage outlining “10 Reasons to Buy Local” on their website, www.berkeleysc.org.
“Our objective is to make ‘buying local’ a habit – something people think about each time they are considering a purchase,” says Elaine Morgan, CEO of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, “doing this not only stimulates the local economy, but it helps support our tax base which funds services and programs such as infrastructure upgrades and road improvements.”
The Berkeley Chamber website also encourages members to shop with fellow chamber members through special member2member discounts, which are also featured on the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce website.
The new Buy Local webpage also outlines other benefits of buying locally such as job creation, tourism boosts and promoting entrepreneurship.
